Freight damage rarely starts in transit — it starts at the dock, in a crate that was too light, a skid that wasn't blocked, or shock protection that assumed a smooth road when the lane included air, sea and handling at both ends. Delman provides sea-worthy and air-worthy packing — from honeycomb and vacuum packing to bubble wrapping, long-term packing and fumigation — as part of the same movement we book and clear: the pack is designed for the mode, the lane and the handling the cargo will actually see, not a generic warehouse standard.

What's included

  • Sea-worthy packing — moisture barriers, moisture-resistant materials and stowage-ready securing built for ocean voyages, container handling and long sea transit.
  • Air-worthy packing — lightweight, airline-compliant packs sized for ULD and belly-hold constraints, with marks and dimensions that match the Air Waybill.
  • Honeycomb packing — lightweight, high-strength paperboard materials that protect cargo from impact, vibration and pressure while ensuring secure and efficient transportation and storage.
  • Vacuum packing — air is removed and goods are sealed securely, protecting machinery, equipment and sensitive cargo from moisture, dust, corrosion, contamination and oxidation.
  • Bubble wrapping — professional cushioning for fragile and delicate items, protecting them from scratches, shocks, vibration and impact throughout handling, storage and transportation.
  • Long-term packing — durable wrapping, moisture barriers, protective materials and desiccants that safeguard goods from corrosion, dust, humidity and environmental damage.
  • Fumigation services — fumigation and pest control for wooden crates, pallets, packaging and cargo, with the official fumigation certificate to meet international shipping and customs requirements.

What we pack

Packing requirements follow the cargo, not a catalogue. We regularly handle:

Typical packing assignments

  • Machinery & equipment — skid-mounted units, production-line components and spares for project and industrial moves.
  • Fragile & high-value — electronics, instruments, artworks and precision parts with anti-static or double-case protection.
  • Oversized & heavy — crated units that need engineered lifting points and weight distribution for crane or forklift handling.
  • Dangerous goods — UN-spec inner and outer packaging where the cargo is classified hazardous (see dangerous goods shipping).

Export standards & compliance

International movements bring international rules. Timber crates for many destinations must meet ISPM 15 phytosanitary treatment and marking requirements. Air and sea carriers expect dimensions and weights that match the AWB or B/L, with centre-of-gravity and lifting marks where the piece is heavy or out-of-gauge. For dangerous goods, packing must meet IATA or IMDG specifications for the UN number and packing group — not just "well packed". We align the crate, the marks and the documentation before the cargo reaches the terminal.

Packed for the freight, not in isolation

Packing is most reliable when the team that builds the crate also books the flight or sailing. Because Delman runs air, sea and land freight with in-house customs clearance, the pack is specified against real chargeable weight, stowage constraints and handling at UAE airports or Jebel Ali — not rebuilt at the last minute because the crate was a centimetre too tall for the ULD or container door.

How we handle your packing job

  1. Survey & brief — dimensions, weight, fragility, destination, mode and any regulatory constraints (DG, temperature, export controls).
  2. Pack plan — crate or skid design, materials, marks and — where needed — lifting and lashing points for onward handling.
  3. Build & inspect — packing or crating on site or at our facility, with photos and dimensions confirmed before collection.
  4. Freight & clearance — collection, export documentation and the booked air, sea or land leg under the same desk.

Why pack with Delman

  • Packing and freight on one plan — no gap between the crate and the booking.
  • Export-ready documentation — commercial invoice, packing list and permits aligned with what customs and carriers expect.
  • ISO 9001 quality culture — consistent processes for inspection, marking and handover.
  • Specialist cargo experience — dangerous goods, aerospace, project and relocation moves packed by teams used to regulated and high-value freight.
